An evening filled with songs, laughter and meaning. This one-woman show, featuring opera singer and APU faculty member RUBY HINDS, chronicles the life and accomplishments of legendary Contralto, Marian Anderson. Marian Anderson was the woman who broke the color barrier at The Metropolitan Opera.
RUBY HINDS dramatizes the story of opera singer and civil rights pioneer MARIAN ANDERSON through unforgettable words and music. Anderson's early days as a musical prodigy in Philadelphia through her struggle to build an opera career in the face of racial injustice to her triumphant 1939 concert at the Lincoln Memorial is one of the most inspiring stories of our time.
