Grassroots publicity is your friend! Whatever you're working on, the world needs to know. Our newly revamped, even more interactive workshop returns, showing you how to spread the word about your event, project, company, ensemble, fundraiser or new stupid pet trick. If you haven't gone far beyond setting up Facebook events and sending emails to friends and family, this is just what you need:
Join us for two three-hour sessions, a week apart (so you have a chance to do a little homework), for an experience that will change your approach to your marketing forever. This "teach a man to fish" approach doesn't just give you quick fixes and fast answers that might change tomorrow: we'll help you build long-term resources that will expand and evolve like you do, and we'll show you the basics of how to put them to work. You'll learn how to build your mailing list, your media list, professional press and calendar releases, and a clear and solid marketing timeline -- and you'll get those tools started before the end of class, so you know what your next steps are, and how to keep moving. We'll brainstorm about your specific project and work as a class and in small groups, laying out your PR needs and current assets, so you can learn skills on the spot, ending your dependence on the same tools everyone else uses and elevating the publicity you create for future projects to a significantly higher, more professional (and more effective) level. This is an introductory workshop: previous experience is not required. In fact, we encourage anyone involved in an event, program or cause that needs promotion to take this workshop and put the tools to work. Whether you use all of it or the specific concepts and tools that appeal to you, this training will signal an end to a dependence on your own circles in order to build an audience. It's the next step into your future, so you can get organized and build a plan that will get butts in seats, attention drawn and funds raised. Additional options: In response to comments from our PRep! Alumni, we now offer the following add-on features, which can be selected or purchased at registration. (Want to add them on later? Contact us -- prices may vary at later times, but we'll help you find a solution.) - PRep! Perks -- The world is always changing, and PRep! alumni will want to stay abreast of new resources and developments in DIY publicity. This free option exclusive to workshop participants signs you up for occasional updates. You can opt-out anytime, of course.
- PRep! Deluxe -- we'll organize your materials in a heavy-duty binder, tabbed and ready to organize not only your handouts and materials, but the resources and campaign notes for future projects as you put PRep! concepts to good use.
- Jumpstart consultation -- Don't let the workshop stand alone: Add a three-hour individual consultation when you register, and you'll get individual help in applying these principles for only $50. Of course, we always offer consulting services -- but this rate will get you considerably further down the path to solid marketing. (Consultations must be scheduled sometime during the three months after your workshop.)
So, are you ready to take action? Register early, so you can get your act together!

These are crucial marketing tools. Using a "teach a man to fish" approach, we'll tackle them head-on, and you'll see that they're well within reach. We'll be brainstorming, working in groups, and writing on the spot. You'll identify your very own Next Actions and create homework for the second session and beyond. Although this is an introductory seminar, you'll walk away with real materials that you can grow and maintain for year, and you'll know where to start next time. Who should attend? ANYONE who needs to spread the word about an event, a cause or a project. This workshop is focused primarily on the arts, but whether you're a singer, actor, composer, musician, part of an ensemble, an artist trying to sell your wares, or even a parent raising money for your kid's school, these skills will make a big difference. You just need to dive in.
